Overview

A Lively Learning Experience

There is a growing need for a Chabad Yeshiva Gedola (ages 17-19) with a strong educational ethos.

A Yeshiva environment that is transparent, supportive, and healthy, combined with authentic Jewish and Chassidic values. To address this need, we have established Yeshivas Lubavitch Tiferes Yisroel. In YLTY, we strive to imbue our students with a passion for Yiddishkeit, Chassidus, and the Rebbe, by fostering personal independence in their Avodas Hashem.

We promote healthy student, parent, and staff collaboration by facilitating frequent student-teacher meetings, bi-weekly assessments, and monthly reports to parents and students, outlining their academic and personal achievements. When challenges arise, as they often do in the young adult years, we provide guidance and access to professional resources and integrate therapeutic techniques into our educational program.

Curriculum

Discovery and Learning

Our learning approach is multi-faceted. Initial stages are based on cultivating curiosity, building independence in skills, and developing the ability to understand the foundations and context of the Sugya. As learning ability progresses we focus more on developing critical thinking and deeper analysis with the goal of isolating and defining key questions and core elements.

Ultimately we envision a six-year learning plan consisting of an initial two-year program of learning by us. After which our students attend other Yeshivos for two years, learning and serving as Shluchim in Yeshivos around the world, and then to return to our Yeshiva for a final 2 years of Rabbinic studies and receiving Smicha.

GEMARA LE’IYUN

At YLTY, our students master a highly analytical studying style, enabling them to absorb a vast array of Gemara subjects through the prism of the Rishonim, Achronim, and Halacha.

GEMARA LE’GIRSA

Our students are offered a unique curriculum, where in addition to learning Gemara and Rashi, we also learn Tosfos. Though initially challenging we have seen Bochurim build up their fluency and Tosafos learning ability in this seder.

Trips & Off-Campus Programs

In Yeshivas Lubavitch Tiferes Yisroel, we believe it is vital for our students to experience Jewish life and culture outside of the Yeshiva walls. Furthermore, we endeavor to build healthy, independent, and resilient young adults. To achieve these two goals, we implement an array of extracurricular activities:

PRACTICAL HALACHA APPLICATION

We want our students to experience the practical application of Yiddishkeit. Therefore, we arrange for our students to tour Jewish organizations and institutions, such as Batei Dinim, the Tzomet Institute, Kashrus organizations, touring the local Eruv, and more. Our students meet with Rabbonim and Shluchim to hear their experiences in leading a community, possible issues that arise, solutions they have implemented, and successes they have achieved.

Leadership

Implementing The Rebbe's Vision

We are raising individuals who feel empowered to disseminate the wellsprings of Chassidus, Torah, and Mitzvos to the broader world confidently. No matter who a person is, where or in what capacity they find themselves, the Rebbe charged his Chassidim to act as emissaries of light and positivity. At YTLY, we imbue our students with the selfassurance to act as independent leaders by instilling a deep-seated passion for the Rebbe’s vision.
