Rabbi Yossi Lowenbeim Inspires YLTY Bochurim

Writer: TY ZalTY Zal

Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel – Yeshivas Lubavitch Tiferes Yisroel (YLTY) had the privilege of welcoming Rabbi Yossi Lowenbeim, the esteemed and eloquent Rov of Chassidim 110 in Upper Pomona, for an inspiring and uplifting talk to the bochurim.

Rabbi Lowenbeim passionately discussed the role of a bochur in Tomchei Temimim, emphasizing the Rebbe’s vision of what it means to be a true Tomim. He highlighted the unique position of Lubavitcher bochurim—on one hand, they experience unprecedented freedom and involvement in the world, while on the other, they are entrusted with the mission of sharing the innermost secrets of the Torah with the world. He posed the question: how can these two aspects coexist?

Quoting the Rebbe, Rabbi Lowenbeim explained that a bochur in yeshiva is not just an ordinary student who might feel split between different roles. Instead, a Tomim is a unified individual whose identity, purpose, and mission in the world are crystal clear. Despite the many challenges that arise, a Lubavitcher bochur never loses sight of his essential role.

Drawing from personal experiences and stories of Chassidim, Rabbi Lowenbeim emphasized the tremendous responsibility and privilege of being a bochur in the Rebbe’s yeshiva. He encouraged the talmidim to approach their learning with enthusiasm, strengthen their connection to the Rebbe, and cherish the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they have to learn Chassidus as passed down through the generations of the Rebbeim and Tomchei Temimim.

The bochurim of YLTY were deeply moved by his words, taking them to heart as a call to action. They were inspired to intensify their efforts in Torah study, davening, and spreading the teachings of Chassidus. His visit left a lasting impact, reinforcing the unique mission of YLTY and the incredible potential within each bochur to fulfill and apply the Rebbe’s vision in their own unique way.

Menahel Rabbi Chaim Moss reflected: "Remarkable Hashgacha Pratis that Rabbi Lowenbeim discussed a topic that lies at the heart of YLTY’s mission: to meet the bochur where he is and to bring him to heights he thought were unreachable, we are looking forward to his next visit IYH!"
